Cookies and external media

Essential storage
Clerk uses account/session and security storage to provide sign-in and protect requested account features. BumpOnIt uses browser storage for content caching, safe cross-tab updates and account-related interface state. These are not used by us for advertising profiles. Signing out clears authenticated wishlist state; use a private browser on a shared device.
Our privacy-choice key, bumponit-privacy-v2, remembers your choices separately for YouTube, Vimeo and Spotify for up to six months. Existing choices under bumponit-privacy-v1 are honoured until they expire or you make a new choice. Public content cache keys start bumponit-cms-public; admin cache keys start bumponit-cms-admin. Browser storage can persist until replaced or cleared. Clerk's storage names and duration can vary with its configuration and updates; see Clerk's privacy information. Clearing account storage can sign you out.
Cover images and optional players
Cover images do not depend on player permission. Genuine episode thumbnails from supported YouTube, Vimeo and Spotify image hosts are delivered through a restricted BumpOnIt server relay. The relay fetches only the public image and does not forward your browser's cookies, sign-in details, IP address or request headers to the image provider. The provider receives the server's network request. Images may be cached for up to one day on our delivery network and one hour in your browser before being refreshed. Uploaded covers and other approved image hosts continue to work normally; their hosts receive ordinary image requests. Original thumbnail URLs and creator credits remain in the post.
Embedded players from YouTube, Vimeo and Spotify do not load on arrival. A clearly labelled button, such as “Load YouTube video”, appears beside an explanation of that provider's use of data. Choosing it allows that provider's player to connect and remembers your choice for up to six months. Permission for one provider does not enable the others. Even with saved permission, each player still waits for a deliberate load click.
The chosen provider receives your IP address, device/browser information and information about the recording you access, and may use cookies or similar technologies for playback, analytics and advertising, including processing outside the UK/EEA. YouTube uses its privacy-enhanced player domain where supported; this does not make it anonymous or exempt it from privacy choices.
You can reject optional media as easily as accepting it, continue using the rest of the site, and change your choice at any time. Withdrawing permission removes embedded players from the page; it cannot recall information a provider already received or directly erase its cookies. You can manage those through your browser and the provider.

Analytics, marketing and retailer links
This version of BumpOnIt does not install optional advertising pixels or analytics scripts. New tracking requires a fresh review and, where required, consent before it runs. Retailer sites and affiliate networks have their own practices once you follow a product link; their notices and choices apply there. Product-image hosts can receive ordinary network requests when images are displayed.
Browser controls and contact
